Who we are?
New Life Mission has been involved in the preaching of the gospel and bringing hundreds of thousands of souls from various people groups to the Lord for over three decades.
With humble beginnings in a small room with 7 church members, we have grown to a 145 church congregations. All our churches are strong gospel-focused. We are actively working in over nine districts of Nepal and in North India.
We are also operating three schools and also blessed with over 127 missionaries, pastors and teachers serving the Lord with us in different parts of Nepal and India.
Who do we work with?
Downtrodden and marginalised but uplifted in the Lord
Most of our work is in the remote mountain villages in Nepal. Some of the places take about 2 to 4 days one-way walk just to reach those mission fields due to the lack of motorable roads.
We take great joy in knowing that the Lord is reaching out to His people despite the challenges. Currently we are working with over 15 people groups across Nepal and north-east India. These people groups have sub-castes or sub-groups within their communities totaling the number of such groups to over 300.
Our goal is to reach as many unreached people groups in Nepal and India as possible.
People groups NLM works with
Currently we are working with people from the Chepang community. The Chepang tribe were cave dwellers a few decades ago. For their survival they were scavenging and foraging from the nearby forests or rivers for food.
Predominantly the Chepang people follow animism and nature worhipping is a part of their spiritual belief. However, the Lord has been using New Life Nepal in various unreached parts where the Chepangs reside and hundreds of souls have come to accept our Lord as their saviour.
Similarly, one of the major communities that New Life Nepal has been working is among the Dalits. Dalits or formerly designated as untouchables, are one of the marginalised people groups in Nepal.
Up until today, Dalits face discrimination based on their caste. They are still prohibited from entering temples and in many cases houses of the so-called “upper caste”. They are also ostracized from various festivals and social events.
However, the Lord has opened doors for New Life Nepal to work with this people group and almost all of our churches have members from the Dalit community.
Also, New Life Nepal also has been ministering in the Sherpa community. The Sherpas, known for their knowledge of mountains and how to summit it, are one of the resilient people groups of Nepal and in some parts of India. They have mostly remained secluded in the Himalayan region far from the gospel. But by the grace of God through our Sherpa School many people have accepted the Lord as their Lord and Savior in their lives.
